We're are aware that vehicle crime is taking place and is on the rise. We have been raising awareness with regards to crime prevention by conducting high visibility patrols, target hardening, speaking to members of the community and encouraging members to not leave items on display. Most opportunists will look for easy targets, lets not make it easy for them and apply some basic crime prevention. It is everyone's responsibility.

Here below are some vehicle safety tips that you may find useful.

Park your vehicle in a well lit location, avoid parking in poorly lit locations as they may leave you and your vehicle vulnerable. Use a garage if available.

Physical locks - Use a high-visibility steering wheel lock

Use faraday bags/pouches - Store keyless fobs in faraday pouches to block signal relay attacks

Additional security - consider installing OBD lock, or a tracker to deter thieves

Please do not leave items on display, they attract opportunists

Never tell yourself it wont happen to you, no one is exempt.

We will continue to pay passing attention to vulnerable locations and provide a visible presence where we can and the crime prevention and target hardening work will continue. We set up regular crime prevention and information police surgeries in the area. Keep an eye out for them. We use wmnow and X to advertise them.

If you have been a victim of a crime please do report it via 101 for non emergencies and 999 in an emergency.
